Working with local schools

"It is no big secret that getting children involved in the performing arts can have major payoffs in school. Research shows that children who sing/dance/act/play their little hearts out are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement compared with their non-performing friends — and they tend to have enhanced cognitive, motor, and social development to boot."

Finding time within the curriculum to work on these skills is tough.

Showtime is a stage school for children and teenagers. Although we try to be a commercial organisation, we often give back to communities more than we can afford. Throughout 2019, Showtime will be work with many schools in the area to promote Showtime and find that special talent in every child. I would like your school to be involved.

Firstly, I would like to visit your school and run a musical workshop for an hour or two with some of your older students. And maybe, perform something at the end for you all to enjoy. To help parents & carers understand more about Showtime, it would be great if we could be included in your weekly newsletter, have our invitation to try Showtime for free sent home in book bags and maybe a mention on your Facebook page. Parents can register their children to attend Showtime Strood at the Strood Academy. Our weekend tuition lasts three hours and breaks the fun of musical theatre into singing, dancing and drama sessions taught by enahnced DBS checked performers from stage and screen.

The first two weeks are on us. Completely Free.

We hope the children enjoy their experience, make new friends from other local schools and parents and careers can see how children grow in confidence and ability.

We can't provide free tuition forever, so we do ask parents to contribute £15 towards the cost of each training session.
